Sage’s Musical Journey

Hi to everyone, this is my very first time to raise funds thru a social networking. I just would like to try this and I am doing this for my son's future. I am a single parent and a music teacher with an almost 8 year- old musical genius. His name is Sage Araneta.

Sage was actually a miracle baby and God's gift to me. I almost lost him when his father decided to get rid of him when he was just 2months inside my womb. But God didn't allow it to happen. God has another plan for this child. True enough, at the age of 2, he started showing signs of a musical genius. He started playing the piano (by ear). When he was 3-years old, I started teaching him the Philippine National Anthem, and voila! for only 2 sessions, he was able to play it with his tiny fingers running up and down the keys. I then discovered that he has a perfect pitch! If he hears music, he can right away play it on the piano. But then, as another year went by, Sage started composing songs, specifically praise and worship songs. Whats amazing with him is that he can play multiple instruments all by ear! He can play the drums, guitar, melodica, and if given the chance, he want to learn the violin, trumpet, sousaphone, flute, and so on. His love for music gets deeper and and deeper everyday. I gave him a book about the orchestra, and after a week of reading, he was able to memorize all the different instruments! He is not only into music, but also into science and discovering the process of things.

At the age of 6, his talent was finally discovered when he was given the chance to promote a milk product here in the Philippines. It was indeed a great blessing for us and for our financial needs for 1 year. He became the Promil boy last 2014.

We are very thankful to God for this once in a lifetime opportunity because this TVC was able to support our needs for 1 year. But then, as Sage is growing up, his needs are also increasing. I am really hoping that I would be able to support his musical career, but unfortunately, I don't have sufficient funds. I am the only one working for this boy's needs (our needs) since his father decided to neglect his responsibility.

Sage dreams of becoming a musical conductor someday. He once told me, "Mother, someday you will see me on the stage conducting.." Oh how my heart broke! but how can i give him this future with only the limited funds that I am getting from my work?

That is the very reason why I boldy posted on this site. I am appealing for my son's future. I hope I can give him a good life, a transportation to take him to his lessons, because he is so sickly by all the pollution we get in our country. I know the amount might be very big but its not only being raised for my son but for my mom's scheduled operation and my dad's post operation needs. That's another story though.

I just wanted to give my son a good future, may it be in our country, or much better in a country that appreciates gifted children
