Sagacious Water Prize Project - SWP

 

What is Sagacious Water Prize Project?

 

This Project is regarding water and related issues which is happening at the present world. Doing Innovations to solve water and related issues is the important theme of the project.

 

There should be a research/innovation about saving of water by introducing novel methodology to water and related issues. Also that novel innovation should posses many other social, economic and environmental benefits.

 

We are organizing this Competition to solve and to find Innovative solutions for water and related issues by the young minds. We hope that through this Competition the school children will get to know the importance and the value of the finite resource water. This Sagacious Water Prize Competition will lead to a Young generation which cares and think about Water and Related issues in the future.

 

Who are the organizers?

 


This Competition is organized by the Sagacious Water Prize Society and by the Team who went to Sweden for Stockholm Junior Water Prize & World Water Week Congress 2013 and got Finalist Diploma in Optimizing Soil moisture for higher yield by using Solar Evaporation with minimum Water of Science Navigators, Batticaloa, 30000. Sri Lanka.

 

 

 

Why it is important?

 


Water is a common resource required by all living beings and it is becoming scarce everywhere in the world. Even though widely discussed by most, this scarce resource is frequently wasted through inefficiency of technology used for many agricultural/Industrial practices and many day to day activities of human. It’s our Past, Present and Future resource but mostly many of us without our knowledge wasting them in several ways. Hence, water conservation in whatever possible manner is of utmost important.

 

What happens after the project?

 

The finalist of the regional competition will be taken to the National Level Competition organized by the National Organizer, CLEAN, ISL Pvt. Ltd. for the International Competition Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) which held parallel to the World Water Week participating over 30 countries around the world.

 

 

 

Objectives & Purpose of the Project

 

Objective of the Programme

 

 

 

*      This programme is organized among the school students as they are the future leaders and the carriers of information to the society.

 

 

 

*      Through this programme the students and the society will get to know the importance and the value of Water.

 

 

 

*      The ways how water is wasting will be shown in a video and a small group discussion will be taken place to get some solutions for water wastage.

 

 

 

*      The best innovative solutions which will be given by a group will be joined in our society as well as in the organization.

 

 

 

*      The students who get awareness will lead a team in the school and will be competed in a school level competition and then zonal level competition.

 

 

 

*      Making all the winning teams to be a member in the forum and to commit them for water related activities in their future life.

 

 

 

Purpose of the Competition

 

 

 

*      Support R&D of the world’s water resources management.

 

*      Promote efforts to improve water conservation & water protection throughout the world.

 

*      Support national efforts to carry out grassroots water related educational activities.

 

*      By encouraging young people’s interest in issues concerning water and the environment.

The winner of the Sagacious Water Prize receives Rs. 10,000 cash award, a glass crystal prize sculpture, a certificate.
