Running for a Reason
Across Africa, approximately 70 elephants are killed every day. Illegal poaching claims the life of one rhino every 10 hours. At this rate, these iconic species will be gone from the wild within your lifetime.
I will be one of the 1,400 runners who will take part in the 2019 Safaricom Marathon, regarded as one of the toughest marathons in the world. Running at an altitude of 5,500ft I’ll be running through the breathtaking Lewa wildlife park in Kenya. 140 armed rangers and 3 spotter helicopters will hopefully protect me from the 26 lions and 137 Rhino amongst many other animals.
This event will raise critical funds for conservation, community development and education programs that are providing hope for the future of Africa’s wildlife.
