With Covid 19 hitting South Africa, the whole tourism industry and my life as I know it has come to a stand still, with no sight in future of when we may be able to return to work.

Unfortunately this too means no income, and as uncomfortable as it is to ask, but anything helps in this time.

Let's hope this passes soon and we get to meet out in the bush again!

  • Later half of February, 2020 (luckily for us, before COVID-19 pandemic), "we had the privilege of visiting the amazing Kapama Reserve in South Africa. Our dedicated rangers and trackers shared the wonders of their world with us. We came home immeasurably enriched by this experience." ( I continue to quote Dina, one of our two leaders of our Mindful African 2020 trip. Thank you, Rachelle, for alerting us to Barry's FB post asking for help.) "Then the pandemic turned everything upside down. We are learning not to take anything for granted. Not travel. Not free access. Not even reaching out to touch someone’s hand. We’ve stepped into an alternate universe. However, one of the things we learned on this trip is still valid, even in this bizarre new reality: the incredible, beautiful, interconnectedness of all life and all beings. Our guides and trackers shared that with us. They showed us that nothing is lost, nothing is wasted. The tree that an elephant topples to the ground becomes a gourmet restaurant for the graceful-stepping impalas. The industrious dung beetle fertilizes the soil for miles around. We are all inextricably linked. The current Corona crisis has stopped everything in its tracks. The game reserves are at a standstill. All the folks who work there, including all our guides, rangers and trackers at Kapama, are facing tough conditions now, with no work. They shared so much with us: their knowledge, their dedication, their hearts. Now it’s our turn to share with them: our hearts, and our support. "
