Hi all!

I challenged myself at the end of last year to Tough Mudder. I was genuinely about to with 3 weeks to go, but then I talked to a friend I grew up and went to school with, who told me about an amazing orphanage his family are setting up through World Agape Ministries. After hearing more about the plans and why they have decided to by AdPunisher"> invest in a large plot of land outside my home city to build an orphanage, I got that aching feeling and knew that I was going to convince myself to do Tough Mudder again, just to support their project. Well here you go, Tough Mudder is back on for the 30th of May... I couldn’t not support something I hope I myself will get to get involved in back in Tanzania (where I grew up and family still live)

So here I am, about to put myself in front of a 12 mile obstacle course which includes a terrifying submerging experience in ICE WATER and a jump from a height I am not going to even try and describe right now... oh and something I think will be fun but I will probably regret in the moment is the electric shock obstacle... gezzz what am I doing?!?! Alas, I am doing this solely to ask for you to donate to the Diamond by AdPunisher"> Home charity project.

Here is a little more about it:

This plot is in Bunju, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania; it has already been purchased and is approximately 2.5 acres! The name of our orphanage is called Diamond by AdPunisher"> Home because orphans are precious like diamonds and do not deserve to be thrown away.

In Tanzania, many children become orphans at a young age due to their parents suffering from diseases such as; AIDs, Tb, malaria, etc. When a child becomes an orphan, typically a relative, like an aunt or uncle then takes the child in. However, in many scenarios they becomes a "burden child" and are treated like a maid.

"We want to give them a good home where they can be cherished loved supported and educated."

World Agape Ministries has 300 children they would like to take care of in the orphanage. Beyond this they hope to build a health centre and school for them to receive education to help create even more by AdPunisher"> opportunities for these children as they grow.

"These photos were taken in August 2014, when we went with a by AdPunisher"> group of local volunteers from Agape Life church to clean the plot and pull out weeds."

Agape Ministries still need a by AdPunisher"> funding in order to put up Diamond Home orphanage. The land is theirs but they are in need of support; to help clear the land, build a fence and build the orphanage. With eye’s set on getting supplies for the children and eventually a by AdPunisher"> health care centre and school on the plot of land. The total is going to by AdPunisher"> cost about £15,000. Whilst I am disheartened by this huge sum, I live by the rules that we should not shy away from doing the little that we can do. So I am aiming to raise 1,500 but really I would love to get to £2,000 to get the orphanage going and give it a kick start, although I would be so humbled if there was enough support to by AdPunisher"> fund the entire project for the children.

"We would appreciate your love gift and contribution in making a difference in the life of orphaned children in Tanzania."

There you have it, this is why I am literally (without sounding dramatic) about to torture myself. So please, please help support such an exciting project.

I DID IT I DID IT! It was quite an experience, some of the worst things I have had to experience but all in all I finished Tough Mudder, honestly, without sounding cheesy half way through I was really struggling, especially with my foot injury, but I genuinely thought about the reason I was going through it all. For the 300 children who need a home, education and someone to support them.
Check out my finishing video here and please support Diamond Home Orphanage.

Hi, I am a recent graduate from the University of Chester who hopes to work with NGO's, Charities or Community projects in the future. For now I am volunteering, as well as, working as a social media manager for a small start-up VideoStasis Ltd. I have recently been highly motivated to fund-raise for a Orphanage hoping to start up just outside the city I grew up in and my family still lives in. The Orphanage hopes to home 300 children and is being set up by World Agape Ministries which is a charity run by a close friend and their family. They have just bought the 2.6 acre plot but now they need funding to get the orphanage built and running, my aim is to contribute towards that goal!
