Ryan and I grew up a house away from one another. We weren't close friends, but we were part of a large group of kids in the neighborhood. When I graduated high school a year ahead of Ryan, we lost touch for 9 years. Then one of our childhood friends got married and I stepped on his foot while waiting in line to sign the guest book. In that instant, something inside was immediately drawn to him. We spent the next week talking and texting and eventually had lunch together. That night, we went to glow in the dark bingo with a group of friends and then went to the park we used to play softball in as kids. We watched the sun come up over the mountain and our lives changed. We were a couple five days later, bought a house together six months later, and he proposed two months after that. We've both gone through our fair share of trials and low points, but together we raise each other up accept each other's pasts with love. Now, as we plan our wedding, we are doing everything we can to keep costs low, but having just bought a house and with my career post-college having just begun a year ago, money is tight. Every single dollar will have a purpose. For instance, $1 will pay for at least two Save the Dates. I thank you for even taking the time to read this as I always enjoy sharing my love with anyone who will listen. - Rachel (and Ryan)
