Help stop the oppression of women in rural South Africa. Help fuel a positive future of gender equality. Help the Rural Women's Movement buy a farm to continue our work of female empowerment.

The goal of this fundraiser is to collect money in order to create an agricultural training center for indigenous women. The creation of the farm will affect the lifes of many people in at least these 4 ways:

  1. The center will train rural women from Zulu communities to improve their agricultural skills.
  2. It will empower women, making them both financially self sustaining and self aware about their abilities.
  3. It will help women adjust to changes brought by climate change in our land and it will train them to work in a way that will contribute to stopping it.
  4. Women will be instructed about South African's Constitution and their rights that corrupt traditional leaders in rural communities tend constantly to deny.

Rural Women's Movement is a NGO established in 1994. Since then under the direction of its executive director Sizani Ngubane it has grown to approximately 50.000 members.

RWM has collected many great achievements in the past, as the abolition, in communities such as eMangweni and amaHlubi, of Ukuthwala (arranged marriage) that under the cover of an ancient cultural ritual had women and girls as young as 12 years old to be abducted, raped and forced to into marriages.

Another great achievement is the fight against the Communal Land Act of 2004 that leaded to the act being brought to Costitutional Court and it was dismissed.

Other then these striking results RWM has and will continue organizing workshop and activities to help fight injustice and Human rights violations.

With your contribution another milestone could be set against women oppression and land appropriation.
