According to Rape crisis 1 in 5 women in the UK have at some point experienced sexual assault, many of them were actually raped. 

I'd like you to imagine all the women you know. Every 5th woman you're imagining has been violated in the most vile way at least once in her life. About a third of those women that have been abused, have never told anyone. We need to change this!

In 2013 I realised that i wasn't the only female that had gone through repeated sexual assault. As a matter of fact there are way too many young girls in england and even more so in Africa that are forced to live with the stigma of being sexually assaulted and raped. For this reason i founded RuthTP (Reaching the Unloved,Torn and Hurt Through Poetry) in 2013.

The organisation aims to support women and especially young girls that have experienced or are at risk of experiencing abuse or violence. This is done by connecting with victims and giving them guidance on how to begin on the journey to recovery.

In 2014 RuthTP would like to not only improve work done in the UK but also take a trip to Ghana, West Africa to spread awareness amongst young street girls about the power of education and using writing as healing therapy from traumatic experiences and as a vice to success.

I plan to join an established charity based in Ghana and spend my time cisiting villages, urban slums and schools to educate young girls on the importance of speaking up through writing when stereotypes make it hard to seek justice by making our voices heard.

The money would also help fund the cause to be more effective in the UK as I'd be able to organise councelling sessions for victims.

The world is becoming a worse place by the day and it is because it's dominated by a broken generation. Help me to help some of these young girls fix themselves so that they can help fix the world.
