Ruthie’s Journey

Please help Ruthie on her road to recovery. This is the story of a tiny cat & her family that has been to hell and back in the last 72 hours. What started off as a normal day, turned into a nightmare.

Gail (Ruthie's owner) is a true hero in the animal world; has worked tirelessly to help reunite lost furbabies. She has also adopted little Lonny Hope, a little pup who was abandoned & unloved, and needed major surgery and treatment due to the state she was found in.

Ruthie and her daughter, JC, were out to play as normal, when Ruthie was heard meowing. Upon opening the door, Gail found that Ruthie had been involved in an accident and had suffered severe injuries to her leg. Little JC (Ruthie's son), was missing and had also been involved in the same type of accident. As you can imagine, Gail and Donna were frantic, they needed to get Ruthie to the emergency vet for treatment but also needed to find little JC.

At the vet, it was confirmed that Ruthie's leg was badly broken & would now need major surgery to either pin the bones or amputate if the pinning was not possible. Ruthie was left in the hands of the vet, so that Gail and Donna could return home & continue to search for little JC. Posters were shared frantically on social media & local searches were happening too but to no avail, and it became too dark to continue.

At first light, the search continued, but sadly JC was found having crossed to Rainbow Bridge. She had curled herself into a little ball under a parked car, and died. Gail has retrieved her beloved girl and taken her to be cremated so that his ashes can be returned back home, where she belongs.

Ruthie has had her operation and to date, her treatment has cost over $1400. Sadly she is not insured, but Gail will do whatever is necessary to make her better. Losing little JC has been devastating, they cant lose Ruthie too.

Our plea to you all is to try & save this much loved baby, & give her the treatment and aftercare that she is going to need. We ask you if you could please spare even just a few dollars towards this vast vet bill that has been accrued to this date. The bill in itself is bad enough; but it is so close to Christmas too. Let's help this family out & show them true Christmas spirit, and help get Ruthie the treatment that she needs.

Gail and Donna have lost their baby, Ruthie has lost her daughter & Lonny has lost her best friend, lets help them by pledging a few pounds towards the vet bills.
