The Rural Workers Organisation was founded in November 2016 in response to growing dissatisfaction amongst the rural population with bipartisan mainstream politics and to combat the growing far right wing world wide by providing a countering voice and eventually providing real material help to the people left behind by the destruction of our land and the jobs fleeing our communities. Our principles can be boiled down to 5 main areas
1) first and foremost a commitment to socialism
2) a commitment to absolute equality between people of all genders, races, sexuality, backgrounds and religions
3) a commitment to ecology
4) a commitment to sustainable and equal rural development from the farms to the towns.
5) a commitment to aiding people in securing the universal rights of access to water, food, clothing, adequate shelter and education and secure income, freedom from violence, freedom from exploitation, freedom from inequality.
we hope to aid in any way we can to aid people in these areas trough direct decisive action and setting up the framework trough which this can be achieved as well as representing rural workers globally and their interests on any platform we can find.
After this fund raiser for our general funding which will allow us to incorporate in both the US and the Republic of Ireland, and cover our general travel, literature and paper filing costs we plan to raise funds for our next projects which will be starting housing cooperatives and autonomous democratic cooperative employment local to the housing, the location and details of which will largely depend on the amount raised online and offline at the time.
Right now we require 400 to 600 euro for legal fees arising from incorporation in the republic of Ireland allowing us to legally fund raise offline in Ireland
approximately $3,500 possibly slightly more arising from legal fees and filing fees arising from incorporation, the services of a registered agent and compliance in the US allowing us to legally fund raise offline in the US
The remainder will be in funding several start up chapters in the US over and above what we can afford currently and providing some fuel money for long distance travel arising from our members travelling long distances attending actions and organising, due to the vastly spread out rural nature of the organisation as well as printing literature and posters, and we hope to have a proper website eventually some will be kept in reserve for any short notice actions we may have to take part in.
anything remaining will be put aside towards our next projects, receipts for all expenditure will be posted publicly on our Facebook page as part of our commitment to accountability.
Feel free to contact us trough our facebook page and remember to like us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/RuralWorkers/ or contact us securely via [email protected] with any questions, queries or to join. We are always looking for new actions and other organisations to lend our support to as well, and we are always recruiting.
Feel free to contact us even if it is only to tell us what you would like to see us doing, or to tell us what issues matter to you and your community.
In solidarity with all,
The Rural Workers Organisation International chairperson.
