Rural Schools Project

Since retiring from my job as a Science Advisor, working with schools in the southern part of Lesotho, I have had a burning desire to help some of the secondary schools I used to visit improve their effectiveness. Most of these schools are in the remote areas, are too far to get appropriate professional support.

The aim of the project is to help these schools (1) communicate well with the stakeholders; (2) develop good strategies for school development; and (3) improve their examination results especially in mathematics and science.

I promise to manage the project in accordance with good professional practices. I will keep open important transparency channels like a website to show progress; and invite other professionals for assessment and evaluation of development made.

I value the goals of this project because I have been trained in science education and the basics of school management but have never fully exploited the skills because in my job with the Ministry of Education and Training of Lesotho, there were often a lot of constraints like financial resources.
