Running for our Freedom

My name is Melanie, I’m 47 and the mother of three beautiful girls.

Just two over 2 months ago I was still in my bed where I had spent most of my time for the last 3 months just thinking there was no hope and that I couldn’t face life anymore...

But then something clicked and I decided to turn my life around.

I feel destroyed but I am still standing and I have decided to transform my pain and anger into a fight against domestic violence!

I want to raise awareness by running a Marathon!!! This is the craziest challenge of my life. I started off 10kg overweight, as the direct result of my relationship, I hadn't ran 10km for 25 years and that was my biggest run ever.

But I am absolutely determined to share the fact that anything is possible!

1 in 10 women are victims of domestic violence, 52 have already died this year! Things need to be done, we need to make a change.

So I ran my first half marathon a month ago and was looking at running the full 42km195 in the fall with all the time to prepare myself fully but the situation has become urgent and women are in need of safety. So I am running the Marathon au Clair du clair de lune around Annecy lake in less than 10 days!!! To raise funds for an organization called Espace Femmes that works with victims of domestic violence.

Please help me give these women the shelter of a safe home! Together we can make such a huge difference!!! Thank you
