Running to send the Travelodge Aussie Spirit to the 2020 Olympic Games

Since starting as CEO at Softball Australia I’ve been so impressed with the outstanding commitment of our elite athletes.

In particular, the immense sacrifice they make in pursuit of their dream to return to the Olympic Games. We have players who work ridiculous hours at their full-time jobs while still fulfilling their training commitments and some have quit their jobs, moved back home and given up everything to focus on softball.

In September, those dreams became a reality, the Travelodge Aussie Spirit dominated the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifier and are now bound for Tokyo 2020 where they will attempt to win a fifth Olympic medal.

Of course, before the Olympics kick off in July, there is a mountain of training, competition and international trips to give themselves the best possible chance of winning another medal for Australia.

While the AOC and Softball Australia can assist to a degree, all of this puts a financial burden on the players and their families.

All money raised will be contributed to the financial costs incurred by the team, help us win another medal at the Olympics!
