Campaign Story
It has been a dream of mine to one day run a full marathon. I have run a few half marathons, swearing afterwards never again to run in my life, only to soon plan for the next one. This time round I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to have a crazy friend (Savvas) convince me to run a full marathon, and none other than the Athens Classic, one of the most difficult of all.
We are running on the 12th of November.
Personal goals are, by definition, selfish endeavours. If I can, I would also like to do some good for others. Running for a charity is common abroad, not so much in Cyprus. I thought I would give it a go.
I am running to raise funds for a Cyprus charity for children with cancer. It is a charity close to our heart and they do a great job.
No idea how much I will raise. I am trying to raise funds using different methods. Will add it all up and see how much it comes out to. Whatever fees are charged by this site I will cover personally so you can rest assured that whatever you donate will go straight to the charity. I will be giving you all the details how things go.
I would greatly appreciate if you could help out. Everything counts.
Help me get over the 16km straight uphill stage of the 42km course knowing that I will be helping, even a little bit, children facing their own uphill challenges.

I have proceeded with the transfer of the amount to the charity Elpida for children with cancer and leukaemia. Update posted by Andreas Stavrou at 03:42 pmI still cannot believe it, but last Sunday I managed to finish the 35th Authentic Athens Marathon. It wasn't pretty. I had to run the last 10km with cramps in both legs. But I gritted it out and was rewarded by the most amazing feeling at the finish line.Thanks to. . . . .

Absolutely amazing and completely beyond my expectations.But now we are here there can only be one target. My target has to be €4,219.50. Why? Because it will translate
