Running for Cancer Research

Most girls expect their parents will be there to experience major life events. Last year, I was fortunate enough to marry a wonderful man and have both my parents there to experience the day with me. I have vivid memories following the ceremony of hugging my mum so tightly and full of emotion, that memory will be with me forever and it was something that a few years ago may not have been possible. 4 years ago my mum was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, she received state of the art vigorous treatment and is now completely free of cancer. Without the research funded by charities such as Ovarian Cancer Canada we would not have these great treatments available. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone who has not had a loved one affected by cancer of some kind. Ovarian Cancer research is one of the least funded cancers yet incredibly common and difficult to diagnose. Please help me raise awareness of this disease and funds for necessary research by sponsoring me to compete in the Goodlife Half Marathon on May 5th 2013.
