Ben Coughlan will run the Cork City Marathon, 4th June 9am, for Make a Wish Ireland. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been granting the special wishes of brave children aged 3-18 in Ireland with life threatening medical conditions since its inception in 1992.

date of marathonBen is the father of ten month old Daniel Albert, a beautiful happy healthy baby, and he and his partner Claire are very aware of their blessings. Ben wants to share his joy of fatherhood. He is running for The Make-A-Wish-Foundation Charity (Reg. No. CHY 15267)

This is Ben's first marathon, and though he is used to keeping fit as a boxing coach, the training for such a long run has taken its toll, with runner's knee affecting him, but he will never the less do what he has set out to do. Hence the name of his campaign 'Run Til I'm Done.'

The marathon is only a week away, so the goal is to get as much funding as possible in this week. Please forward this to anyone you know who would like to show support for this very worthy cause.

If you are unable to fund here you can sign the funding card in The Armada Bar, Kinsale. Bandon Tae kwon-Do Academy, Bandon or email Ben to find another way [email protected]

"We cannot add days to a child's life but we can add life to their days."

"We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for the precious gift gift you gave us and the wonderful memories we will have forever. We are eternaally grastefully." Quote from a wish child's mother.

Make-A-Wish® Ireland has one simple aim - We grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 18 years living with a life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

A wish granted is true magic for the child providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctordoctors and treatment.

Since its inception in 1992 Make-A-Wish in Ireland has granted wishes for over 1000 brave children, realising their greatest wish and allowing them experience the hope, strength and joy each wish provides.

In all possible cases Make-A-Wish grants the child's first wish ensuring that all immediate family members participate. In doing so we provide long-lasting and happy memories for those relatives, whatever the future may hold. Wishes are limited only by the child's imagination.

As an increasingly well respected and popular children's charity, we are fully committed to providing the maximum level of care and enjoyment for our children and their families.

We achieve this through a combination of professionalism, attention to detail and sensitivity; nothing is too much trouble for our children; they are, after all, the only reason we exist!

To continue with our work and succeed in our aims, we rely overwhelmingly on the kindness of people like you. With your generosity we can make a real difference to a child's life.
