Run For Morne

The young man in the cover photo is 21 year old Morne Van Rensburg. Morne was playing at the Sharks Rugby Academy in Durban, South Africa until late 2019 when he was diagnosed with Leukaemia. He was treated and in remission by December 2019, however the Leukaemia returned this year and is more aggressive. He is currently in Capital Haematology Hospital in Westridge, Durban. Morne's brother Ruan was found to be a 100% match for bone marrow, however he is still in critical need of medication that can only be sourced in the USA at a cost of R400 000.Â

6 of us who play club rugby with Ruan at Westville Old Boys in Durban, South Africa will be running a 42km marathon on Sunday the 3rd of May in an effort to raise funds towards Morne's operation. Any and all donations are welcome. Every little bit will go towards #marathonformorne initiative with the aim of raising enough funds to get Morne the treatment he needs. During these tough times we need to stick together and help those in need. #strongertogether
