Run Boston 2020 for Charity (Phase II)

Phase I (December 2018 - March 2019) results: $5,735 from 30 backers. I created Phase II as a new campaign because PayPal only allows a campaign for 120 days duration.

Growing to be a better me has always been the most important agenda of my life. A better me that can inspire and create impact for others.

I started my marathon journey in August 2016 when I was 44 years old after running for 3 years. In 2017, I set up a higher goal to become one of a few Indonesians to run all six world marathon majors. I run Berlin in 2017, then Tokyo and Chicago in 2018. I will run London and New York in 2019.

This better me, will run Boston in 2020, which will be my final race to earn a Six Star Finisher medal. I want to dedicate this run for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in a form of fundraising for their research in finding a cure for blood cancers. This is also to honor my cousin, Hillarius Clement Haryanto, who passed away 16 years ago, fighting against lymphoma. One person who is fighting for cancer could spend roughly around USD 70,000 over an eight-week period. In Indonesia, most people with the minimum wage only make around USD 3,000 a year. If we can find the cure, hopefully, it will help Indonesian and people all over the world fighting for cancer more effectively.

I need to raise a minimum of USD 10,000 by September 2019 to get a higher chance to be accepted by LLS team. All funds will be donated to the charity when my application is successful. In the event, my application to LLS is unsuccessful, donation will be used for application to other charities listed with Boston Athletic Association. I will also match each individual donation of $500 or more, with the same amount.
