Ruben Gonzalez’s Memorial Fund

On December 31, 2020, we lost our Father, Ruben Gonzalez at the young age of 68. Ruben started feeling sick the week prior, but tried to rest at home, until he could no longer breathe. He was taken to the local hospital where he had to be intubated. After going into heart failure and fighting for his life on a ventilator for 8 days, he was called back home to Heaven to be with Jesus.

Our father Ruben (or as he was lovingly referred to as, Apa), immigrated to the US at the young age of 14. He worked here his whole life and raised his family. He was an amazing Father, Grandfather (even a Great-Grandfather), and Husband of 50 years. To know him, was to know laughter. He could turn any serious situation into a simple laugh to lighten the mood. He was best known for his dedication to his family, being a devout, Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Grandfather. He had an immense passion for helping others, always willing to help when he was called upon. He had the most fantastic relationships with his all grown-up children, and was almost always seen with a grandchild holding his hand. His grandchildren were his love. And probably most importantly, he had been in love and partner to our Mother for over 50 years. Together, they were lovingly living their retired life to the fullest. He was the rock of our family before he was so quickly and cruelly snatched away from us.

Apa Ruben will be greatly missed by his whole family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

We would like to raise funds to help our mother and family with the necessary arrangements to put him to rest, pay for any remaining medical bills and help our mother with anything else he left pending, as he was so quickly and unexpectedly taken from us.
