Yayasan Peduli Alam is asking for your help.

Your support helps us keep the streets clear of rubbish in Amed and surrounding villages (North East coastline of Bali). We collect and sort the rubbish, recycling what we can and disposing of the rest as ecologically as possible. This stops plastics and waste from entering rivers, streams and the ocean, or being burnt.

The corona virus crisis has created a standstill in tourism in this picturesque coastline of Bali. This has caused a dramatic reduction in tourism dollars, and an increase in rubbish on the streets due to limited funds to support the daily collection and disposal of rubbish.

The lack of regular rubbish collection contaminants the area, increases health issues for locals, contaminates water, harms animals and marine life, and causes air pollution.

There is no government system for the regular rubbish collection across Bali.

Through the generosity of others, Peduli Alam employs a team of locals who are normally on the road every day collecting waste from rubbish bins across the area. This equals on average 25 rubbish collections, or 60 tons of rubbish a month being collected. The monthly running costs for this are:11,450,000 IDR (approx. 666 Euro, $1200 Australian Dollars, $740 US Dollars).

Ongoing donations are used for:

  • Employing a full time local truck driver - 25 mill IDR a year
  • Petrol for the rubbish truck - 24 mill IDR a year
  • Employing x4 local garbage collectors - 78 mill IDR a year.

The people of East Bali are going to be hit hard due to this pandemic, financially, environmentally, and humanitarianly.

We cannot do this without your support. Any amount big or small will help us to help the local community by keeping the streets clear and clean.

We ask that you please share this campaign far and wide.

Please message us at the link above should you have any questions. We are a registered charity organisation in Indonesia. All funds go 100% to this cause. The team are 100% volunteers. Locals are paid.

WITH LOVE FROM THE TEAM AT YAYASAN PEDULI ALAM, Amed, Bali, Indonesia

The collection and disposal of waste from different villages continues throughout Desa Bunutan, Amed, Bali, Indonesia. Without regular rubbish collections in the area, non-organic waste enters the waterways and oceans, accumulates on beaches, threatens aquatic life, and interferes with how humans can use the water environments in the area.
