RTM + Beer 2013

We would like to ask for your help and donations in order to be able to bring the RTM + Beer Festival back for a second year. After last year’s success of bringing 3000 people together for a day filled with great food, drinks and music we have no choice but to once again endeavour to do the same if not better. Although we had very little support financially and minimal media coverage, through our philosophy of supporting the independent lifestyle and the essential culture which surrounds it we wer able to attract a very large turn-out who went home feeling more satisfied, more aware and more optimistic for their city and life knowing that there are people out there who care more about only turning profit and exploiting weaknesses.  We  are very proud to have brought so many people together who all remained respectful of their neighbours and of the grounds by keeping them clean.

We wanted to bring the people of Sofia and abroad the opportunity to try things like different foods and beer that exsist in their city but due to extreme corporate advertising and their business aggressiveness, most people don’t get the chance to hear about.  We did this. We did it in a very positive and warm atmosphere filled with great music and friendly chatter.  The feedback from the festival goers was so encouraging that we will attempt to do this year’s festival on a bit of a grander scale by recieving funding from more cultural institutions as well as selected embassies and the instutitions which support the relevant artists/guests.  We will continue to refuse any corporate sponsorship in favour of the small business owners who actually are the ones every country depends on.

We envison this year to be a great deal more successful due to last year and we will improve a number of things that we learnt from the festival and the feedback people gave us. 

Now to describe what we have in store for this year. The genre of music to be represented will remain the same with a pleasant and positive requirement so staying with the funk, jazz, hiphop, soul feel of last year’s festival. We plan again to have small to medium sized breweries from around Europe at the festival to showcase their craft beers as well as a number of small restaraunts from around Sofia to feed the hungry crowds. Of course, we would like to increase the number and variety of each of these aspects depending on funding.

We also plan to increase and improve other aspects such as grounds decoration, games and activities for guests such as tetherball, horseshoes, table football and numerous board games. We will also have more visual art and decorations to feed your eyes.

RTM + Beer Festival is not just another festival... it’s a manifestation of what Bulgarian festivals need to evolve into in the future. We represent what festivals were originally made for - the celebration of life, of culture, of friendship and social responsibility.  We look forward to having you involved in this project and we'll see you in September!
