We are Evelyne and Simone, two dog lovers who are going to the street dog rescue shelter RSDR in Bulgaria to volunteer for a week. Bulgaria has many street dogs who are often subjected to the most horrendous cruelty. They are kicked, beaten and shot on a regular basis for no other reason than that it provides certain individuals with amusement. Many of these dogs are injured, in pain, or starving and in the winter there is a high chance that they will freeze to death.
RSDR now houses more than 250 dogs and is overcrowded. They have to say no to dogs, but people keep dumping dogs on them. It's a stressful situation and the shelter owners could use some help. Let's help them not having to care about medical supplies for the next few weeks/months!
When we arrive late September, we don't want to come empty handed. If we can raise some money, we can buy much needed medical supplies for the dogs once we arrive in Bulgaria. It's much cheaper there than here in The Netherlands.
It would mean so much to us if we can stuff our rental car with as much dewormers, antibiotics and tick treatments as we can. So we can make a difference for the street dogs in Bulgaria, rescued by RSDR.
