FATHERS’ DAY 2018 - CAMPAIGN AGAINST MODERN DAY SLAVERY

June 13 – June 17 2018

Purpose

This year’s celebration is unique and dimensional for the fact that it seeks to support the campaign against modern day slavery. Various activities are designed to create awareness for this evil that is degrading and dehumanising to the human race.

Wednesday 13th June 2018. Digging Deep Service.

This will be the midweek service with a touch of difference as the service will be dedicated to making prayers and supplications against the trade and particularly praying for the victims of modern slavery.

Friday 15th June 2018. Congregation prayer meeting.

This will be a prayer meeting with targeted prayers against the evil of modern day slavery. There will also be a film show highlighting the story behind modern day slavery and its effect on our society.

Saturday 16th June 2018. Charity football game.

This is going to be a football game at Victoria Park, London between Royal Connections football team and the football teams from other parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Sunday 17th June 2018. Fathers’ day celebration and highlight of the events of the week.

This will be the grand finale of the week’s activities. There will be fathers’ day celebrations both at the family and millennial services. There will also be presentations and highlights of the activities of the week. The whole idea is to create awareness on the evil of modern day slavery and money realized from all the activities of the week will be donated to a charity that has the same objective as the theme of this year’s fathers’ day celebration- campaign against modern day slavery.
