Rotary Wing Training

My life long dream since I was twenty has been to fly helicopters as a career. Over the years there have been many obstacles in my way. Opportunities have been there but I was unable to take advantage of them due to poor decision making at the time in my youth. I now am raising four children one daughter in college, one daughter in 6th grade and two boys ages one and three. In my nearly twenty years as a law enforcement officer I have served well and donated much of my time helping the community. The pay has not been great but my job is rewarding and enjoyable. In order to pursue the training I will need to raise over $60, 000. The training will start as private pilot fixed wing. I will work hard to build my hours and transition to rotary wing. I will also have to gain instrument and commercial ratings all of which will cost money for instructors and use of aircraft. I hope to complete training in a year and hopefully be employed by a Sheriff's Office or company as a helicopter pilot. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would not be wasted.
