ROOTS OF HEAVEN
"I have lived in the Lake District (UK) all my life. My great grandfather was the first businessman to hire out rowing boats on Lake windermere and also the first to have a horse-drawn carriage service over Kirkstone Pass. His son fared less well and eventually the family was disinherited - life became very difficult for me and my two step brothers. Despite that, I became a national amateur boxing champion and forged a life for myself.
Today I am a novelist and digital artist. I make short films, teach transcendental meditation and compose music. I also play blues harmonica. My latest project is a book containing 50 beautiful digital landscapes that capture the magic (and reality) of the Lake District, circa 1900.
My hope is to publish this book in time for Christmas so if you want to be part of my ambition then please donate. You will be rewarded with a choice of stunning quality, A3 prints from a limited edition, numbered and signed by me.
Share my dream and be an important part of this exciting project!"
Roots of Heaven will have 104 pages. The 50 x A4 colour illustrations will be interspersed with brief accounts from newspapers of the period, poetry, social comment and the words of contemporary (circa 1900) travellers.
Funding (£2000) will cover printing and distribution costs of the book itself and a selection of six prints, in limited editions of 50, from which donors can chose their remard.
The book itself will retail at £20 but can be purchased by donors at a discounted cost of £15 (postage worldwide included)
These prints are collectors items and are therefore both a beautiful addition to your collection and an investment opportunity.
