Roots is a one woman show about Sinéad, a 33 year old Dubliner who’s having an identity crisis while living and working in Brussels during the Isis Bombing’s. What makes us who we are anyway? "Its Feckin Isis again, Didn't I tell you they'd hit the EU?" It is running as part of Smock Allies: Scene + Heard Festival, a festival which supports artists making new work. The ethos of this festival is one of breaking down barriers showcase developing work that is accessible to all, across a variety of disciplines.

The show runs from 21 - 23 of February @ 8pm in the Smock Alley Theatre.

Tickets are available at this address: https://smockalley.ticketsolve.com/?_ga=1.18763511...

Our team is made up of Gráinne Hallahan (Writer/Director), Sara Geoghegan (Co- collaborator / Assistant Director), Adrian Colwell (Production Manager), Seán Padraig Masterson ( Musician and Sound Design) and Gráinne Boyle (Performer) . We all have varying degrees of experience in theatre production and a love for live art.

As there is a short amount of time between now and our performance, we are hoping to reach the largest amount of people and make donating to this project as easy as possible. At the minute we have no other funding sources for this production. Depending on the results of this campaign, we may attempt to get funding from other sources (sponsorship, events, etc.)

Our total funding target for this project is €500. We are attempting to reach this target through this campaign and through other fundraising events. The money we are attempting to raise through this campaign will be used for renting rehearsal spaces, buying props as well as printing costs for marketing materials and advertising.

Our main challenge with this project is cost/funding. All members of our team are volunteering their time with this production and are very passionate about the work being created. Any costs which have already arose have been paid out of our own pockets. Between crowd funding and some fundraising events, we hope to raise enough money to cover any costs that arise between now and the performance.

Thank you for your time in reading about our project. Hopefully we have gotten across how necessary funding is to our project. Any donation given to this project is greatly and sincerely appreciated and will go towards producing the best possible version of our play.
