Rook Baby Fund

Laura and Christopher have been trying to start a family for about 4 years.  The couple is trying to raise money for In Vitro Fertilization.  Any donation is much appreciated!  

Laura and Christopher met in early 2008.  Things got serious pretty fast and the couple was engaged in November of that same year.  Come December, the couple had purchased their first home in Newnan, Georgia.  April 25th 2009, the couple wed at Something Special, just around the corner from their home.  The wedding was outside and it was perfect.  

Later that year, Laura and Christopher actively started trying for a baby.  After many many many tests and procedures, the verdict was in:  This was not going to happen on its own.  

The couple met with a fertility doctor from Reproductive Biology Associates, or RBA for short.  Dr Straub gave them 2 options: Donor sperm or In Vitro (IVF).  Laura and Christopher didn't hesitate to chose IVF.  They finally had hope that their dreams of becoming parents would come true.  

On Sept 27th L and C are going for preliminary testing.  This consists of blood being drawn from both parties to check for diseases.  Laura will then have a FemVue test to check for blockages in the fallopian tubes, and Christopher will have a semen analysis.  If all Laura's tests come back good, and Christopher's analysis proves we are still candidates for the treatment, the couple will begin the IVF process in mid October.  

The treatment starts with Laura giving herself injections of hormones on a daily basis.  This is where a lot of the cost will come from.  Luckily, Laura is still young and healthy, so only the minimum amount of hormones will be administered.  12 days in, and after daily trips to Sandy Springs, GA, Laura will give herself an injection that will stop ovulation.  She will then be anesthesized and Dr Straub will remove eggs before they have dropped.  Christopher then gives another sample and the sperm will be injected into the eggs.  A few days later, hopefully, quite a few of the eggs will be fertilized.  Two embryos will then be implanted in Laura.  There is a 60-65% chance of an embryo sticking.  :) 40% chance of TWINS!!

The procedure will be financed and the money raised will be used to pay off the debt.
