As you know by now, my sister left us unexpectedly. I have known for a while what her final wish is and that is to return to her favorite place and spend the rest of eternity there. Captains Hill on Adak Island. I never expected to have to plan this trip so soon. Although I don’t have any exact dates for when I will take this trek to honor her final wish and follow through with my promise I do know that I will need help to see this through. As you can expect any trip to Alaska let alone Adak is not cheap and I am only in the infant stage of planning this and am not sure of what expenses I may come across between travel, lodging, food and anything in between. My goal is a total guess.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not one who likes to ask for help but in this case I am asking anyone and everyone to help Ronda get to the place she wants to be and help me on my journey to get her there. This isn’t a vacation for me in anyway, this is Ronda’s final trip and final wish.

To my sister Ronda,

I will always love you and miss you. I know over the years we drifted apart and it’s that that hurts me more than anything aside from you leaving but I can promise you that you’re final wish will come true no matter what it takes. Till I see you again

love you

Your brat

Below is her obituary if you haven’t had a chance to read it.

Ronda Susan Hipp, 50, of Fort Ashby, passed away suddenly, at home, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 after battling numerous health issues for several years.

Ronda is preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Hippy” Hipp; her paternal grandfather, R.B. Herron; and her maternal grandmother, Delphia Hartman. She is survived by her father, Ronald D. Herron of Springfield; her mother, Linda S. Moore and husband Sid (Ronda's Dad) of Romney; (2) brothers, Shaun Herron and wife Sarah of Fort Ashby and Joshua Moore of Romney; and her paternal grandmother, Opal Free. Ronda is also survived by her niece and nephew, Calia and Calyn Herron, both of Fort Ashby.

Ronda was born in Romney on November 25, 1971. She graduated from Smithsburg High School in Smithsburg, MD, Class of 1990. Ronda was a lover of music, and often said that music was her therapy. She enjoyed watching television and spending time with her friends, Larry Fleece, Clara Riggleman, and others at the Silver Tree Apartments where she lived.

Per Ronda’s wishes, she will be cremated and her brother Josh will spread her ashes in Adak, Alaska on Captain's Hill at a later date.
