I believe you have already heard about the rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh in the news. There are 900,000 refugees living in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh who were forced to flee violence in Myanmar. I don't think I need to tell you how bad the situation is, you can just google it and find out. Even though there are some organizations working very hard to provide the basic needs such as food, shelter, healthcare etc. they are simply not enough. Not even close. They are living in inhuman conditions.
I was living in the U.S.A but currently living in Bangladesh and I've decided to go to Cox's Bazar to do whatever I can to help these people in need. If I can help a hundred people with my limited ability and resources I would like to do that. I must do that, otherwise I won't be able to look in the mirror without feeling guilty. We need individual effort along with the organizations that are working there. Regular people like us are very much needed to volunteer and donate to help these people. They need help and they need it now.
I will be leaving for Cox's Bazar at the end of this month and I plan to stay there for at least 6 months. I would really really appreciate it if you can contribute a little bit on my journey to help other fellow human beings who desperately need us. Thank you very much.
