We are a group of four, who are former humanitarian aid workers that have pooled all our resources to provide assistance to the displaced Rohingya people.
The Rohingya people are a stateless Indo-Aryan ethnic group who predominantly follow Islam and reside in Rakhine State, Myanmar (previously known as Burma). There were an estimated 1 million Rohingya living in Myanmar before the 2016–17 crisis. Described by the United Nations in 2013 as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world, the Rohingya population is denied citizenship under the 1982 Myanmar nationality law. They are also restricted from freedom of movement, state education and civil service jobs. The legal conditions faced by the Rohingya in Myanmar have been widely compared to apartheid.
Our Mission is to give assistance to these displaced people by providing them with the basic necessities required daily. Our work is carried out mainly in Bangladesh and Pakistan which are the top two main countries that have accepted the Rohingya who have fled their homeland in Myanmar.
With our expertise, we have designed Ration Packs, Sanitary Packs for Men and Women, Sewing Kits, Clothing and Personal First Aid Kits. At the moment, our operations hand out 20,000 such packs on a monthly basis. We are also exploring with other projects that will provide basic living necessities to the Rohingya. Our funding comes mostly from Private Individuals and certain Financial Institutions worldwide.
With the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have seen a significant decrease in our funding that in the past supported our whole operations. This is now taking a toll on our operations and our people out in the field. Our concern is that this will also affect the people that we are supporting and leave them without the crucial supplies that they need daily.
This has forced us to reach out to the public for assistance that will allow us to continue to provide support to the Rohingya. We are asking you to contribute and your contribution can be in any amount to support our cause. Your donations will allow us to continue to operate in these regions to provide the Rohingya with the basic living necessities that they require. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you and to hope that you stay safe during the troubling times.
