Daddy’s Healing Fund

Our Dad, aged 53, a father of 6, is now in ICU at Mary Mediatrix Medical Center in Lipa. He was diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Polycythemia Vera. CT Scan revealed Acute Subdural Hematoma. He was intubated hooked to a mechanical ventilator. September 29 he underwent Hemicraniectomy. October 9 Tracheostomy was done. Working diagnosis are Subdural Hemorrhage and Hypertensive Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease.

It was September 27 when we decided to have him checked. Previous days he was already having headaches and can't concentrate on his work. But this time, it was different. When we went to the emergency unit of Mediatrix he was diagnosed of traumatic brain injury, he undergone CT scan and results came back that he has blood clotting on the left side of his brain.

September 28 he was admitted. Still, he is not feeling good and the headache is much worse than the previous ones. Sumisigaw na sya sa sakit eventhough nabigyan na sya ng mga pain reliever pero parang hindi nagttake effect. 10am he stood up and went tonthe bathroom, umihi sya and sa sobrang sakit ng ulo nya nasuka sya. Dalawang beses nangyari ito. 10am nakatulog sya and he was dreaming. Nagsasalita sya ng kung ano ano. 11am nagcheck ang nurse and sinabi sa amin na he needs to eat before taking the medicine. 12am ginigising namin sya but sabi nya maya maya na so pinagbigyan namin muna sya na makatulog kasi alam namin na pagod na din sya at puyat dahil sa sakit ng ulo. 1pm pinipilit pa rin namin sya gisingin, same pa din at sabi nya wait lang. 2pm ganun pa din, the doctor even checked on him and said na natutulog lang naman sya. So, okay. 3pm napansin na namin na iba yung hinga nya and nagddrool na sya. I called the nurse and hindi na sya magising. This was the longest day ever for our family. Nagsimula na syang humilik ng malakas at nagcardiac arrest na sya. After nya marevive nilipat na sya sa ICU.

September 29

He was scheduled for a CT Scan (Circle of Willis) angiogram to checked if there's a possible aneurysm. Luckily results came back and it was not aneurysm. He was then scheduled for a hemicraniectomy. Operation was successful and he was then returned to ICU.

The main reason why our family decided to put up a fund raising for him is because we have exhausted all of our funds and resources as the medical bills have increased to greater cost.
