My birthday is coming up in a week's time and as always I look forward to the day in gratitude for all that my life has given me so far...
My last birthday coincided with the first COVID case in Malta so it was not an easy year at all...yet, this year was not just about COVID...it was year where i truly came to appreciate the meaning of connection in difficult times and the fact knowing that we are in this together can make a difference...
With this thought in my mind, this year I want to celebrate
my birthday in a different way by organising a fundraiser for Hospice. Through
my work, I have come to know that Hospice provides an immense support to
cancer patients and their families during their most difficult and
vulnerable times. My hope is that through this fundraiser, I can
give a small contribution that will go a long way to support Hospice
in its work... And I hope that many of you can join me too...
Hospice Malta, a registered voluntary organisation with the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (VO/0062), was founded in 1989 with the aim to provide and promote the highest standards of Palliative care.
Throughout the year, over 1,300 patients and their families benefit from Hospice Malta palliative care service in the community. The service is provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with the support of over 200 volunteers, to patients suffering from cancer, motor neuron disease, cardiac, respiratory, renal and liver diseases.
