Hi!

What for?

In March 2013, with a non-profit organisation called OakTree, I will be joining over 1000 young Australians between the ages of 16 and 26 on a week-long roadtrip departing from all corners of Australia heading towards the  Australian Parliament House to bring forth the issue of poverty. Along the way actively spreading the word about the United Nations Millennium Developmental Goal of halving between 1990 and 2015 the proportion of people who suffer from hunger.

There's only just over 2 years until 2015 and the rate of change has slowed down in the past couple of years. We want to kick things up again and to remind Australia that the goal still stands and we want to do what we can to reach it.

Roadtrip2013.com.au  is the project website. Please do have a look!

Where will the money go?

To take part in the Roadtrip i will need to raise $545. This will cover food, accomodation, and travel expenses (including buses and a flight home at the the end of the trip).

What exactly will happen on the Roadtrip?

On the 9th of March 2013 over 1000 young people will depart capital cities on roadtrips of 80 people each. These roadtrips will travel together through local communities, speaking to every day people, attending events and spreading the message of the Roadtrip. They will travel to Canberra and then Sydney for a final celebration of the campaign." Roadtrip2013.com.au

I would appreaciate any help that i receive!

If you've gotten this far, thank you so much for reading!

Cheers,

Umu Hassan
