Beat CKD – Road to Kidney Transplant

My sister Maria Joan F. Requinala is 25year old, a mother, with 1 year old daughter and the youngest among the nine siblings of Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto S. Requinala. She is a 3rd year college student but stopped her study as Bachelor Of Elementary Education at Bestlink College of the Philippines when she was diagnosed with CKD.

She was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage 5 last June 2018 and currently undergoing twice a week hemodialysis session at Valenzuela City Hemodialysis Clinic.

Our family wants to redeem her normal health condition through Kidney Transplant Operation and I (Ericris F. Requinala) will be her Kidney Donor.

We have attended the Pre-Transplant Orientation (PTO) at National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), Quezon City last July 27, 2018. We started our work-up last November 2018 and we are now on our second phase of our work ups.

The income of my sisters' common law (Vinson M. Race) who works as a government employee on a temporary basis is P10,000.00 per month which is not sufficient for their daily living.

Our family cannot afford to sustain the medical needs of our sister such as maintenance in medicine, treatment, dialyzers, laboratory tests, injections, and other related expenses for medical condition of my sister after tapping outside resources such as Local Government Units, government agencies, relatives, friends, and "for a cause" projects.

Our family could no longer afford to sustain the other needs of our sister considering the high cost of living nowadays. Our income is already enough for our daily needs. Thus, we opted to seek outside assistance as our last resource.

We are done for KT work-up but we are not qualified to avail the Z-package offer by Philhealth because my sister has antibodies and needs to undergo three (3) cycles of Retuximab and Plasmapherisis then retest of PRA Class 1 and class two to see if the antibodies lower down.
