Road to the Molokai 2019

Scott Chambers and Dean Cockle will be flying the United Arab Emirates flag for the first time in history for the World Championships of Paddleboarding 2019 in Hawaii. The Molokai to Oahu race is an open ocean crossing of the Ka’iwi channel (55km) also known as the 'Channel of Bones'. It is regarded as the ultimate test of a waterman and the pinnacle achievement for the sport of prone and standup paddle boarding.

Scott and Dean have both been paddling their whole lives and would like to put themselves to the ultimate test this summer.

Getting them both to the starting line on the 28th of July 2019 will involve a lot of logistics, planning and associated costs.

With just over 3 weeks till the event, they are looking to raise $18,000 to help cover equipment, travel, accommodation, and safety boats. Equipment bought with funds raised will then be sold after the event and donated to the Christina Noble Foundation.

Their journey in preparation for this event will aid as:

1. An inspiration to the younger generation of the UAE, proving that we can all follow our passion and achieve our goals and dreams on an international level.

2. Promoting and raising awareness for sports across the UAE.

3. Putting the UAE on the world map of elite watersports

We appreciate any form of support in helping to not just make a dream come true for two athletes, but also in setting a great example of hard work and paving the way for future waterman and women out of the Middle East region.
