Campaign Story
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, March 13, Officer Rickey Faust was involved in a one-car traffic crash on East I12. Officer Faust was responding to a hold up alarm when he swerved to avoid a car that changed lanes in front of him and struck the concrete barrier. As a result of the crash, Rickey sustained major injuries to his spine, broken ribs and severe bruising. He remains in ICU on a respirator after undergoing two surgeries on his spine and several procedures to remove fluid from his lungs. It is unknown at this time how long he will remain in ICU or if he will need additional surgeries.
Rickey and his wife, Jodi, have two beautiful children, ages eight and ten. Since the accident, Jodi has taken leave from her job so she can care for the children and spend every free moment by Rickey’s side.
Rickey and his family, like so many in the Baton Rouge area, were still recovering from the August flooding when the accident occurred. They now have to endure the uncertainty of Rickey’s recovery from his injuries due to the crash.
Please consider making a donation for Rickey and his family to help them with the financial burden they are facing during his recovery.
