Roach Love – Horror Short Film

Logline:
A man romances a woman with a roach fetish and discovers there is more to love than roach love.

Synopsis:
A man falls in love with a woman he met in a dark alley way, where they share a similar roach fetish. After a good sex, he finds himself caught in a cockroach cult, led by the woman, where they are about to turn him about into one of them, a cockroach people.

Director's Treatment:
This story came about when my lecturer and I were talking about doing a horror film, and he mentioned to me about an idea he had written about cockroaches. Immediately it dawned on me - Cockroach + Horror, they are a perfect match. So we created a dream fever, where it just escalates into a fuckstorm for the protagonist. And the audience watching it, are just in for a crazy roller coaster ride, not knowing what is about to happen next and wishing for this nightmare to end.

The whole language behind this short film is suspense. We decided to cut out all dialogues from the film, just using visuals and sound effects to create that intense atmosphere. I would see this film to be an experimental horror, a portrayal of a nightmare that we might have, when our fear consumes us.
