Rivmix Dance Academy

We are Rivmix Dance Academy. We are a self funded dance group for deprived areas in Bradford. Our age range is from 3 to 18. We have been running a year but without the help from the Bradford community we wouldn't have been able to achieve what we have. We are now winning more local competitions so we now need better costumes so we can look as good as everyone else. As a group we have funded for our costumes, uniforms, entries for competitions, travel expenses and rehearsals by doing sponsored walks come rain or shine, car washes, bag packing and from generous donations. We haven't had any help as yet and are hoping to get some help in the near future so we can eventually have fantastic costumes, more rehearsal times and our main goal - to have our own dance studio.

All the children in this dance group are so hardworking. They chose their dance name, the colour of their uniforms and they have even made their own costumes for competitions. Our areas dont really get good credit but we are fightling to make this change. They love everything they do at and with Rivmix. For some children dance isn't just a hobby, its somewhere stable for them to go on a night and forget about any problems they have. Some even share problems with other dancers. We are like a big family. They have achieved so much with very little so with some funding these children would be able to have their dream of amazing dance costumes, not worry about travel expenses and to have, one day, a studio they feel safe in and can call their own.

Anything donated to these children will mean so much to them. They really do deserve it.
