Rileys Fundraiser

Hi there and thanks for taking the time to read our story!   Riley robert lafferty is a two year old boy who was born early at 31 weeks on the 3rd of May 2012. During this time riley was taking to the special baby care unit at paisleys royal alexander hospital were he spent four weeks, the first week of this riley spent it in intensive care were he was fighting for his life. The staff at the hospital had came to the family and said it was touch and go with riley because he couldnt breathe on own. After all this riley pulled threw were after so many tests, so many weeks in hospital wee were able to bring him home.    

Riley was constantly seeing by doctors, health visitors, etc because of how early he arrived , he then had to be seen by a physiotherapist because he was behind .. Riley had been seen the physio for at least two month then had got refered to the head doctor at the Royal Alexander Hospital were on the 4th of Februrary 2014 he had been diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy.. Since this has happened riley has been to so many appointments, he has had so many tests, he has been measured and fitted for his splints to help him walk, he has been giving a walking frame to also help him walk outside, he has been measured for his wheelchair which he will be in sooner than what wee thought..

Wee as a family are holding a number of charity events in order to raise funds for his specially adaptive bike which without this will take the family more than a year to do!! were asking for all youre help so wee can buy riley his first bike so he is'nt any different from any other child when it comes to things like this ... On the 28th of september wee are holding our first charity event nd wee are hoping to raise as much as possible ... The charity event is a football match between family and close friends however everyone is welcome!!
