Welcome to my Home Page for The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting The Princess Margaret.

This is my third year participating, and I am dedicating this ride to two individuals who impacted my life.

The first individual is my brother, Peter McPherson.  He has devoted over half of his life as a research scientist in Pharmacology at the University of Toronto.    His work focuses on the identification of factors that promote genomic integrity and the cellular response to DNA damage.  DNA damage comprimises signalling networks which become mutated and predispose cancer susceptibility.   I commend him for his dedication and enthusiasm for his research.   He is one of many that are contributing their efforts to find a cure.

The second individual is my Aunt Mary.    As many of my relatives lost their lives to cancer, my Aunt Mary stood out for two reasons.   The first was that she took a proactive role in keeping our family in tact, organizing reunions and taking a leading role in family events.   The second was that she was an active cross country skier that was competitive, fit and the least likely to be susceptible to be diagnosed with cancer.   She passed away shortly after being diagnosed.

Contribute to this history-making event with a donation. Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at The Princess Margaret.  Thank you in advance for your help.
