Ride for the Roses – 63 Miles for Cancer research

Hi there!

September 3rd 2017 I am riding the Ride for the Roses 2017. This is a 63 miles bike ride to raise money for Cancer research. The ride's motto is: A tomorrow for everyone.

And there should definitely be a tomorrow for everyone. A tomorrow where anyone can do anything they want to do. The things they like to do. Instead these people are fighting a disease, one that is hard and striking. It comes without a warning and before you realise it.. it is too late.

A lot of people have to deal with cancer at least once in their lives. Is it not by themselves, than a family member or friend probably will. And at that point all you can do is hope for the best.

But now, now is the time we can do something about it. Raise money to be able to prevent these diseases or when struck, defeat it. The chances of defeating cancer are growing each year. But still way too many lives are taken every year by the terrible disease.

A couple of years ago I started a weight loss journey that took me about 8 months. It was tough, but in the end really worth it. The main reason why I attempted to do this? Previously I loved sports, but because of an injury I had to quit. I gained weight and after some time I was way too heavy. I decided to change it so that I could do what I loved, again... Sports. Over these 8 months I lost about 100 pounds and got back to cycling, running, swimming and jiu jitsu. I love it and do these things every day.

I want that for these people as well. That they can go back to doing what they love to do. Every single day.

I am willing to put some time in to it and help so that others can do what they love, just like me.
