Ride for the Ocean

Good day to all,

First of all, a basic introduction of myself. I'm Adrian, soon to be 40 this year. Married with a pretty wife who is always supportive of me no matter what I do. am doing this as a community volunteer and to be able to do my part for the environment.

On to my fundraiser intent, we know that the ocean covers 70% of the earth surface and over the years with human evolutions and advancement, we lost much of its wonders and beauty and its ability to provide due to pollution, climate changes and human factors. And furthermore, the ocean plays a big part in our ecosystem, like the oxygen we breathe in, yes you might wonder but its true, the ocean provides most of the air we breath in. Its also provide food that we eat and the water that we need.

I have been an avid diver for a number of years and seen the effects of climate change and pollution can do to the ocean. Which is really disheartening, you can see coral bleaching, lowered or nil number of fishes in areas that once was populated, Plastic pollution all around. With all this continuing at the pace that it is, in years to come, our future might not have the chance to see the beautiful ocean. And I hope that whatever that I can or will do, might help slow down the degrading of the ocean life so my future kids and their family might still be able to appreciate the beauty of the ocean.

My intended project is to ride up north from Singapore towards Malaysia(West Coast) then up towards Southern Thailand and up to Myanmar(yangon), afterwhich will head back into Thailand towards Laos and to Vietnam then back into Cambodia and back to Thailand again, afterwhich back towards Malaysia(East Coast) and back to Singapore.

I will be covering most of the rural and coastal villages that I can to provide information and learning materials where information is not easily accessible to them.

Will be looking for likeminded people to join me on this trip too. Interested parties can email me on this. Trip will be self funded:)

All funds raised will be used for the purpose of acquiring materials and resources to provide for the education of the people we meet during the trip. And also collected funds will be donated to various non-profit organisation like WWF and Project Aware Foundation.

Ride will take place in mar/Apr 2019.
