Rickey Faust’s Road to Recovery

Shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, March 21, Officer Rickey Faust was involved in a one-car traffic crash on East I12. Officer Faust was responding to a hold up alarm when he swerved to avoid a car that changed lanes in front of him and struck the concrete barrier. As a result of the crash, Rickey sustained major injuries to his spine, broken ribs and severe bruising. He remains in ICU on a respirator after undergoing two surgeries on his spine and several procedures to remove fluid from his lungs. It is unknown at this time how long he will remain in ICU or if he will need additional surgeries.
