Richard Johnson has survived a background of physical abuse, rape, forced prostitution, and just about everything else a man wouldn’t want to experience. There is no doubt about this man being genuine. His story has been authenticated by another survivor and has been blogged about in survivor circles. He'snow a father, a survivor, and a final year university student. He has come through all this on his own and funded herself through college – until now.

Now, in his final semester, RIchard has run out of funds. He cannot pay his final tuition fees of £10000. His university has informed him that he doesn’t qualify for financial aid and he is now in near certainty of not being able to complete his education, although he has brought himself so close to doing that.

In desperation, I have set this fundraiser so that people might contribute to help him reach her goal.
I know that people have their own issues, but this story hurts and frustrates me on a deep level; however I also have a deep belief in the basic generosity of people when they come across a worthy cause. So I hope, cash-strapped and all as we are, that we can club togoether, even if only ten euros/pounds/dollars at a time, to rescue this young man from this horribly disappointing situation.

The saddest part of all this is that Richard is due to graduate from a social work degree, and he has always intended to use that degree to help other men caught in the same situation that he was in. It would be a human tragedy if he was not able to realise his dream. As he says himself , he has chosen “not to be an average statistic”. Many thanks in advance .
