Richard and his family needs our help to raise P400,000 ($9000) for his medical expenses to help him get back on track.
It started around 1 AM on October 6, Richard woke up to open the door for his son and after a few minutes, he went to the bathroom because his stomach was upset. As his wife was getting a glass of water, she passed by the bathroom and noticed Richard mumbling words over and over. She called their son to help Richard stand up and lay him down on the bed but they couldn't; he was saying "Why can't I move my body? I don't like this. I don't like this.." until he collapsed and his family started to panic even more. He lost control of his whole body and started staring blankly into the ceiling as if he was already gone; everyone was shouting his name that he mustn't give up because they couldn't go on without him. His family then rushed him to the nearest clinic but they rejected him because of his current state so they tried to get a cab to the nearest hospital which was around 15 minutes away even though it was early in the morning, but they managed to get him to the Emergency Room just in time.
The people from the ER started disinfecting him, and he was brought to CT Scan room. The admission for the room in the NEURO ICU is costing around P6,000 ($130) a day and they also have to maintain over P40,000 ($1000) a day for his medicines and other hospital expenses.. But even so, his family accepted it since they want only the best for their one and only husband/father despite already having financial problems.
The next day, his physician came to check up on him and his CT Scan results; the doctor said he has a large hemorrhage in the center brain due to stroke that led him into a coma state wherein they won't let him have brain surgery until he reaches a particular consciousness level (Glasgow Coma Scale). He was only on level 3 when he checked him but now he is on level 6 but they need him to get to level 10 or above to be able to continue with the operation, and his family believes that he will be able to reach it since he is a healthy person who does not smoke nor drink.
The cost for brain surgery in the Philippines ranges from P355,000-P550,000 ($9000 - $12,000) excluding other expenses from the hospital. Even though they're getting support from Richard’s sister, brothers, and friends; his wife and kids are still in need of financial assistance; that's why they decided to turn to online funding for help since they don't know when he'll wake up or how much it will all cost.
Richard is a loyal and faithful husband and a perfect father for his kids. He's a hardworking person who is loved by everyone and a loving son and brother to his parents and siblings. It is a traumatic event for his family to experience this intensity level of stress. God knows he loves his family very much and his family knows that Richard is fighting for his life right now to be able to come back home to his family and friends that misses him so much.
It's a critical time to give your support and prayers to him and his family to be able to survive this challenge given to them.
It would be awesome if you share this campaign to the people you know and let's keep praying for the recovery of Richard. #DontGiveUpRichard
