On the 8th July I'm participating in the Long Course Weekend event http://www.longcourseweekend.com which is held each year in Tenby Pembrokeshire. The event which is televised takes place over three days. On the Friday, entrants must swim 4km around the bay of Tenby, on Saturday they must cycle 112 miles around the Pembrokeshire coastline and on the Sunday they run the Welsh marathon. All 3 events are tough in their own right so completing all 3 consecutively is a real challenge.
This is the first time I have done such an event and it's my first open water swim and marathon, so I've decided to use the challenge as an opportunity to raise money for my daughter's local pre-school; Southdown Methodist Pre-School. It is a charitable organisation and as such needs help to finance new learning equipment and facilities. In particular, they would like to raise enough money to hopefully build a shelter at their local allotment, so the children can go there all year round and whatever the weather! It is the children's only outdoor space at the Pre-School, so a shelter would make a massive difference to them all. To help raise as much money as possible, the John Laing Charitable Trust will also match my sponsorship up to a maximum of £1500, so every donation you make will be matched
I've been training hard and really want to support a local cause, so please help me reach my target and raise funds for this amazing Pre-School in Southdown, Harpenden.
