Richard Walters’ National Young Leaders Conference Trip

I am proud to announce that my son, Richard Walters, has been nominated by his teacher to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. He was chosen due to his outstanding grades, hard work, and strength of character to represent his school at this unique program for exceptional students.

Being nominated for this opportunity is a great achievement for any student but for Richard it is truly amazing. Richard struggles every day with several disabilities including Asperger's Syndrome, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, ADHD, Dysgraphia, and more. He doesn't allow any of this to stop him from being an active member of Cub Scouts and a green belt in karate all while maintaining an A average at school. If Richard was able to participate in this once in a lifetime event he would gain the kind of experience and perspective that would benefit him for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not free.

As a single parent I do my best to provide my son with everything he needs but this incredible experience is out of my reach. If you would like to help Richard attain this goal he has worked so hard for please consider donating. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
