My father, Richard P. Chan, Sr., 60, had a bad first quarter this year. First, he collapsed and fell face first at the Boni MRT Station last January 26, 2017, causing a huge cut above his right eyebrow. It required 5 stitches to fix it up. The CT Scan on his head revealed something much worse, but we would only find out about it 6 weeks later. Then on March 8, 2017, he got into a car accident, which damaged both sides of the car. The whiplash on his head caused by the crash aggravated his already worsening condition.

Prior to the car accident, he was having memory lapses, forgetting names, places, dates and he had severe headaches every day. After the car accident, the headaches were more frequent, and he was having more memory lapses. He couldn't spell simple words, he couldn't do simple addition/subtraction, and he couldn't even complete a statement.

When he was finally admitted to the hospital, a second CT Scan revealed there is 50 to 60 cc of blood clot between his brain and his skull. According to the doctors, this kind of hematoma can be life-threatening because it can compress the brain. It was apparent that Burr Hole surgery was required at the minimum.

But wait, there's more! The doctors couldn't operate on his head yet because his cardiologist wouldn't give clearance unless a Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery is performed first. And have I mentioned my father also has the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), an enlarged prostate, and Gout, too.

On March 22, 2017, he underwent Bypass surgery and he is currently recovering at the ICU. Bills have started racking up. The HMO coverage is already used up. And my family's emergency fund is already wiped out. Emergency Loans from our employers can only amount to a month's salary.

We humbly ask for your kind donations and prayers in this time of great need. Rest assured, we will ask God to always bless your kind hearts. Thank you very much.
