My father Ricardo Cangayo, is a stroke patient since year 2013 and he can no longer move the right side of his body. Recently, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He was advised to undergo chemotherapy, in which for the first session, he has to be confined in the hospital for 1 month, 7 days chemo session then rest of days for monitoring. During this times, blood should always be made avaialable for tranfusion and high dosage of antibiotics is needed. He has been in the hospital for 3 weeks now, as he also developed complications like pneumonia (which is still progressing till now) hypokalemia, and heart conditions. The doctor decided to proceed with the chemotherapy today (9/20/2020) due to urgency of his condition (white blood cells are reaching over 100 which is way beyond the normal). Due to his sensitive condition, he is currently in a private room to avoid contracting COVID-19 and other infectious disease.
It saddened us that due to pandemic, public hospitals are no longer accepting other cases and/or no available private rooms for chemo patients, so we don't have a choice but to stay in a private hospital even we can no longer afford it.
We are humbly asking for donations to help cover the running hospital bills here in the Philippines. Unfortunately, the medical insurance have been maximized and our family is struggling to raise funds to cover for his care which already reached more than 1 million pesos. We are expecting this to go up as we move ahead with the chemo sessions.
We know that times are difficult for a lot of us right now but we will forever be grateful for any amount you would like to share. If donating is not possible, we kindly ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We hope that you could share this to your network as well.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
