Since November of 2016 The Rhea County Animal Shelter is striving to become a no kill shelter. We only euthanize now in extreme medical cases. We are a non-profit 501c3 shelter that operates like a rescue. We are the only animal shelter for the entire county of Rhea. Since we have made substantial changes at the shelter the three animal control officers have been able to adopt over 600 animals just in 2017 alone! Everything is fully vetted and spayed or neutered before going to their new home. The demand is so high in our county that we are desperately in need of funding to keep providing for all of the medical expenses we endure with the animals. "Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever." Please join us!
